Columbia College Description: Columbia Colleges main campus is located in Columbia, Missouri. The school has 36 extended campuses spread across 13 states and Cuba. The college was founded in 1851 as Christian Female College. In 1970, the College went from being a 2-year, all-female school to a 4-year coeducational institution.   Academically, Columbia College offers courses and degrees ranging from art to business to nursing; the majority of degrees offered are Bachelors degrees. However, in 1996, Columbia began offering Masters degrees, with course available in the evening for students interested in an MA in Teaching, an MBA, and an MS in Criminal Justice. On the main campus, academics are supported by a 12 to 1 student / faculty ratio.  On the athletic front, the Columbia College Cougars compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in the American Midwest Conference.
